Capital Hotel Plc has reported robust financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, with revenue climbing 59% and profit after tax increasing by 32%.
The growth was largely driven by consistent patronage at the Abuja Continental Hotel, even as inflation, exchange rate fluctuations, and higher energy costs weighed on businesses nationwide.
At the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Chairman Ramesh Kansagra stated that the performance demonstrates the strength and stability of premium hospitality in the capital.
Shareholders at the meeting lauded the Board and management for the company’s strong performance and for advancing the ongoing refurbishment and modernization of key hotel facilities.
These upgrades are designed to elevate the guest experience and uphold international hospitality standards.
Director of Capital Hotel Plc, Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, who chaired the meeting on behalf of Kansagra, expressed appreciation for the robust support of the shareholders during the rebuilding process.
This initiative is targeted at raising the bar for the company’s prime property, the Abuja Continental Hotel, following a year of economic adjustments that tested the sector.
In his address, Kansagra noted that while evolving guest preferences and tougher competition in the luxury segment posed challenges in 2025, demand for high-standard lodging, meetings, and events in Abuja remained resilient, supporting the company’s earnings.
According to him, the boost in earnings also reflects progress on a board-approved upgrade program for the hotel.
Kansagra explained that the refurbishments and infrastructure improvements are intended to uphold global hospitality standards and reinforce the hotel’s competitiveness.
“These are strategic, long-term investments designed to enhance the enduring value of our flagship property,” he said.
The Chairman further noted that disciplined cost control, alongside capital projects, allowed the company to convert higher activity into stronger profit margins without compromising service quality.
He stated that the Board remains optimistic about the future, pointing to Abuja’s role as Nigeria’s political and diplomatic center as a key demand driver.
Moving forward, Kansagra said Capital Hotel Plc will focus on advancing its refurbishment plan, boosting operational efficiency, and improving service delivery to sustain growth and shareholder returns.
