Mr Sunday Adebayo, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Command, has warned personnel against receiving bribes while discharging their duties.
Adebayo, who gave the warning on Friday during his visit to Ife Unit Command, urged patrol operatives to maintain zero tolerance for corrupt practices.
The newsmen report that the sector commander was received by the Unit Commander, Mr Pius Ogunloye.
Adebayo commended the Unit Commander for his leadership and commitment to duty, while assuring the Command of his support in addressing its challenges.
He acknowledged the contributions of the Special Marshals to the activities of the FRSC, urging personnel to uphold the integrity of the Corps.
The sector commander stressed that the personnel could live decent lives without compromising their values.
Adebayo said bribery had severely damaged public perception of the Corps, charging the personnel to be a good representative of the FRSC, particularly while carrying out patrol and enforcement duties.
The sector commander also expressed concern over the Road Traffic Crash (RTC) statistics recorded in Osun, saying most crashes were avoidable.
He urged operatives to constantly assess their efforts towards preventing crashes.
Speaking on personnel welfare and individual health management, Adebayo advised officers and men to plan their lives responsibly.
He directed patrol operatives to pay particular attention to motor vehicles bearing dealer stickers.
The Unit Commander, Mr Pius Ogunloye, in his welcome address, highlighted the Unit’s achievements, operational commitments and major challenges requiring support.
The sector commander also visited the Oniwaro of Iworo, Oba Adesokan Ayoola, Ilufemiloye I, in his palace.
Oba Ayoola pledged his support to the FRSC operations in his domain.
