The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigerian Army have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration aimed at improving road safety and enhancing security across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This followed a courtesy visit by the Commander, Nigerian Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General J.R. Lar, to the Sector Commander, FRSC RS7.1 FCT Sector Command, Corps Commander T. Iliyasu.
During the meeting, both agencies discussed measures to deepen their longstanding partnership through enhanced intelligence sharing, joint operational support and coordinated interventions to promote safer roads within the FCT.
Speaking during the visit, the officials underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between security and safety agencies in protecting lives, improving emergency response and ensuring safer highways for road users.
Major General Lar also pledged the support of the Nigerian Army Engineers in carrying out road safety audits and assessments to identify and address road infrastructure challenges that contribute to crashes.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs between the two agencies and a tour of the Drivers’ Licence Centre, where the Army delegation was briefed on the Corps’ operations and service delivery.
Both the FRSC and the Nigerian Army reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting road safety, protecting lives and supporting national development through stronger institutional synergy.
