Fredrick Ameh has expressed appreciation to the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority following his recognition as a contributor to Port Today, a publication of the Authority.

The recognition, which took place at Tin Can Island Port, was facilitated under the leadership of the Port Manager, Sani Isa Abubakar, and highlighted ongoing efforts to promote youth inclusion within the maritime sector.

Speaking after the event, Ameh described the opportunity as a significant milestone in his professional development, noting that the support of the NPA management and port leadership has been instrumental in shaping his journey.

“I also take this moment to congratulate myself for reaching this stage and appreciate the Nigerian Ports Authority for allowing me to be part of this platform,” he said.

Ameh acknowledged the role of mentorship within the port system, particularly the guidance of Atabo Mohammed Sule and So’la Adesanwo, noting that their support contributed to his development as a maritime writer.

He also referenced the launch of his first book, Candle Like Me, held at the Tin Can Island Port Hall, where Heads of Departments and key stakeholders gathered to support the milestone. The event was coordinated with the support of Sylvester Othuke Egede.

Ameh said the book reflects his experiences and growth within the maritime environment and serves as a foundation for his continued work in documenting industry developments.

Observers said the recognition underscores the role of institutions such as the NPA in supporting emerging professionals and encouraging knowledge development within Nigeria’s maritime sector.

Port Today is a publication of the Nigerian Ports Authority aimed at providing insights into port operations, industry developments, and policy direction within Nigeria’s maritime sector.
