First HoldCo Plc has confirmed the resignation of Dr. Julius Omodayo-Owotuga from its Board of Directors.
In a regulatory filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Thursday, the financial services group noted that the departure of the Non-Executive Director became effective on May 7, 2026.
Although the official notice, signed by Group Company Secretary Abiola Baruwa, did not specify the reasons for the exit, the board expressed its gratitude to Dr. Omodayo-Owotuga for his dedication and significant contributions to the growth of the company during his tenure.
This board change coincides with a period of strategic realignment within First HoldCo. Just recently, the company’s Chairman, Olufemi Otedola, further solidified his controlling interest.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that Otedola acquired additional shares valued at approximately N43.41 billion, raising his total stake in the group from 8.06 billion to approximately 8.60 billion shares.
