Fidelity Bank Plc has delivered food supplies to residents of Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas in Ondo State, reinforcing its commitment to improving lives and supporting vulnerable groups across the country.
At the distribution exercise on Thursday, Regional Bank Head, Southwest 1, Mr Folaranmi Jemirin, explained that the Fidelity Food Bank Initiative was designed to tackle hunger and provide assistance to disadvantaged communities nationwide.
“We are honoured to be in Ondo State to continue this impactful initiative, and we hope that today’s donation brings much-needed relief and comfort to the beneficiaries,” Jemirin said.
He noted that the Ondo outreach formed part of the bank’s wider nationwide effort, following earlier distributions to more than 2,000 residents in Anambra State. According to him, the initiative reflects Fidelity Bank’s mission of driving sustainable impact across communities.
Commending the intervention, the Vice Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area, Mrs Olurantimi Esejuwon, described the support as a lifeline for the elderly and for persons with special needs.
“It shows that the bank truly cares about people’s welfare beyond banking services, and we are deeply grateful,” she said.
Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Mr Biyi Poroye, also praised Fidelity Bank’s generosity and called on the bank to establish a branch in Ilaje in order to harness the area’s economic potential.
Beneficiaries voiced their appreciation, with Pastor Ademola Ikudehinbu noting that many families would “sleep with joy tonight because of this kind gesture,” while also appealing for the bank to set up a local branch.
Fidelity Bank, a full-fledged commercial deposit money bank, currently serves over 9.1 million customers through its 255 business offices nationwide, its digital banking platforms, and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
