The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to creating a conducive operating environment for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies, describing them as critical to the nation’s energy expansion drive.
Lokpobiri gave this assurance on Thursday while presiding over the EPC Steering Committee Meeting in Abuja.
Speaking on the outcome of the session, the Minister noted that the meeting provided a platform to review progress updates from previous roundtables and discuss emerging perspectives shaping the industry.
He emphasised that the goal was to assess milestones achieved so far, align on shared priorities, and identify specific areas requiring sustained focus to strengthen project delivery.
“Our commitment to maintaining a conducive operating environment for industry players is expressed in our effort of providing the necessary support to enable efficient and productive operations,” Lokpobiri stated.
As the government continues to advocate for new investments and projects in the oil and gas sector, the Minister highlighted the indispensability of the EPC sector in translating these visions into reality.
“As we continue to promote and advocate for new projects, the role of EPC remains critical to achieving successful execution, timely delivery, and long-term value,” he added.
The meeting is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to eliminate bottlenecks in project contracting and execution, ensuring that Nigeria remains a competitive destination for energy infrastructure development.
