The Federal Government has unveiled a new housing programme targeted at Nigerians living abroad.
The initiative, known as the Home/Abroad Housing Scheme, is designed to help Nigerians in the diaspora acquire homes safely in Nigeria without the risk of fraud by agents or intermediaries.
For the Nigerian community in Turkey, the scheme is being hailed as a landmark effort to restore trust and strengthen ties with citizens abroad.
“Many of us have painful stories of losing money to unreliable agents or relatives. With this policy, that sad chapter is closed,” said Mr Emre Magboh, President of the Nigerian Community in Turkey, in a statement.
Mr Magboh added that the scheme offers not only homes but also a renewed sense of security and belonging in the motherland. He pledged the support of diaspora Nigerians for the programme and urged other communities abroad to embrace the initiative.
He stressed that participation would benefit individuals while also serving as a way for diaspora citizens to contribute to national development.
