The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and tolerance as Christians across the country celebrate Easter.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the call in an Easter message issued on April 3, 2026.

In the statement, the Minister urged citizens to reflect on the values of hope, renewal, and sacrifice associated with the season.

“I join all our Christian brothers and sisters in embracing Easter’s message of hope, renewal, and sacrifice,” he said.

Idris noted that Easter serves as a reminder of the power of faith to overcome adversity and the promise of new beginnings.

He expressed optimism that the season would strengthen national unity and inspire Nigerians to work collectively towards building a more peaceful society.

“May it strengthen the bonds of unity that hold us together as one nation, and inspire us to continue building a Nigeria where peace, tolerance, and goodwill prevail,” the Minister added.

He also extended goodwill to Christians celebrating within Nigeria and in the diaspora, wishing them a joyful Easter.
