The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed the reopening of the runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport following a runway excursion involving Air Peace flight P47190 on Sunday morning.
The aircraft, which was en route from Lagos, veered slightly off the runway after landing at the airport. No damage was recorded in the incident, and all passengers disembarked safely.
In a statement issued shortly after the event, FAAN disclosed that the available landing distance on the runway is now 2,700 metres, reduced from the original 3,000 metres.
Air Peace, in a separate statement, affirmed that there were no injuries and that the situation was managed smoothly.
The airline added that all passengers disembarked calmly and reassured the public of its continued adherence to strict safety protocols.
“Safety remains our top priority, and we are committed to upholding the highest operational standards,” the airline stated.
