…as statutory revenues surge by 11.5%
The Federal Government has received 35.6% of the N2.3 trillion total distributable revenue shared for May 2026, pulling in a total of N818.680 billion.
The remaining balance was distributed among State Governments, Local Government Councils, and mineral-producing states.
An analysis of the revenue distributable shows that the Federal Government collected 46.5% (N749.801 billion) of the N1.611 trillion distributable statutory revenue pool, but took just a 10% slice (N68.879 billion) of the N688.785 billion distributable Value Added Tax revenue.
Compared to May, gross statutory revenue experienced an 11.5% increase, climbing by N273.623 billion to hit N2.651 trillion, driven by strong gains in corporate taxes, petroleum profits, and oil royalties.
Meanwhile, gross Value Added Tax collections suffered a 7.8% decrease, dropping by N62.949 billion from April’s figures down to N743.668 billion, alongside declining import and excise duties.
