Udengs Eradiri, a former president of Ijaws Youths Council (IYC), on Saturday insisted that President Bola Tinubu’s re-electionTinubu’s reforms will earn him re-election in 2027 -Sanwo-Olu remained non-negotiable.
Eradiri represented the Door-to-Door Campaign founded by Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, during the APC presidential primary polls in Yenagoa.
He addressed APC members at Ward 10, Agudama-Ekpetiama, in Yenagoa Local Government Area, where party faithful gathered for the primary election.
Eradiri declared that opposition efforts aimed at stopping Tinubu’s second term ambition were “dead on arrival”.
He commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the policies had begun delivering benefits to ordinary Nigerians at the grassroots.
Eradiri, a former governorship candidate, said another term would enable Tinubu to complete key national reforms.
“In the Door-to-Door Campaign, we firmly believe President Bola Tinubu’s re-election is not negotiable.
“Everything the opposition is doing against this President is dead on arrival,” he said.
Eradiri said the large turnout at the primary reflected Tinubu’s popularity and demonstrated internal democracy within the APC.
He stated that from earlier primaries to the presidential exercise, the APC had shown readiness to retain power in the 2027 election.
The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youths and Environment said the ruling party was not underestimating opposition political parties.
However, he insisted the APC would not lose sleep over activities of opposition groups, including the NDC and ADC.
“President Tinubu is tested and trusted and has shown the competence to take difficult decisions needed to improve the country,” Eradiri said.
He said Nigerians were increasingly supporting the President in spite of criticisms and misinformation allegedly spread by political opponents.
“You can see the growing organic support for the President because people know the truth despite the lies peddled against him.
“They have also realised there is no better alternative to President Tinubu,” Eradiri said.
According to him, the absence of challengers within the APC primary showed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and performance.
He said: “Today is proof of the good work the President is doing.
“Although, we have many qualified people in the party, none contested because they believe the President deserves a second term.”
The APC Chairman in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Zikenah Coker, also expressed confidence ahead of the 2027 general election.
Coker said the APC remained focused in spite of opposition activities and was determined to secure victory in Bayelsa and Yenagoa.
He said: “Of course, we have opposition parties. It is not a one-party system.
“But it is our duty as APC supporters to ensure the party emerges victorious in Bayelsa State and Yenagoa Local Government.”
