The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) maintained its bullish run midweek, reflecting sustained investment and renewed activity across key market segments.
The performance indicators closed positive across the board, signaling cautious but continued investor optimism.
The total market capitalization of the equity segment inched up to ₦93.78 trillion, a marginal 0.02 per cent increase from the previous day’s close. Similarly, the benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) gained 0.02 per cent, settling at 147,742.23 points.
Beyond equities, other market segments recorded stronger positive movements. The Fixed Income market capitalization rose by 0.27 per cent to reach ₦51.48 trillion, while the ETPs (Exchange Traded Products) market capitalization advanced sharply by 1.71 per cent to settle at ₦31.99 billion.
The day’s trading was led by robust performance in specific equities, with SFS Real Estate Investment Trust leading the charge, jumping 9.88 per cent to close at ₦418.75. Following this were Royal Exchange Plc, which rose 7.37 per cent to ₦2.33, and International Energy Insurance Plc, which gained 6.05 per cent, closing at ₦2.98. Julius Berger Plc and Omatex Plc also recorded strong advances, gaining 5.51 per cent to ₦134.00 and 4.90 per cent to ₦1.50, respectively.
Conversely, the losers’ chart was dominated by Triple Gee & Company Plc, which led the decline with a 9.91 per cent drop, closing at ₦4.91. This was closely followed by Industrial & Medical Gases Nigeria Plc, which fell 9.87 per cent to ₦32.40. Other notable decliners included UACN Plc, down 6.46 per cent to ₦68.00, Ellah Lakes Plc, which shed 4.66 per cent, closing at ₦13.30, and Japaul Gold & Ventures Plc, ending the day down 4.51 per cent at ₦2.54.
