Residents of Enugu State Metropolis will experience a planned power outage today, October 1, 2025, the MainPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MEDL) has announced.
In a statement signed by its Head of Communications, Emeka Ezeh, on Tuesday, the company said the outage will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carry out essential maintenance on its facilities.
The exercise, MEDL noted, will affect several 33KV feeders and lines, including Kingsway (Lines 1 & 2), Emene Industrial (Lines 1 & 2), Ugwuogo, Thinkers Corner, Trans Ekulu, Ituku Ozalla, and Government House.
Areas expected to be impacted are the entire Abakpa District, 9th Mile and surrounding communities, Government House and environs, Shoprite Axis, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, Kingsway Area, Abakaliki Road, CBN Quarters, Railway Quarters, Artisan, Ngwo, Coal Camp, Ologo Quarters, Uwani, Asata, Golden Royale, and Iva Valley.
Apologising for the inconvenience the outage may cause, MEDL assured customers that electricity supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is concluded.
Ezeh further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering improved and reliable services to its customers across the state.
