Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called on all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strictly comply with the provisions of the Treasury Single Account (TSA), warning that any form of default will not be tolerated.

Speaking at the May edition of the Government House Monthly Prayer Service, held at the Latter House Chapel, Government House, Uyo, the Governor said the State has recorded a leap in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and commended the facilitators for their commitment.

He appreciated the positive response recorded so far, disclosing that his administration aims to generate sufficient IGR to pay salaries and reduce over-dependence on federal allocations.

Governor Eno stressed the need to correct systemic errors and strengthen institutions that will outlive any single administration.

He reassured citizens that the local government primary elections would be free and fair, devoid of intimidation or harassment.

He urged everyone, including aspirants, to remain in their respective wards, emphasizing that no one would be allowed to truncate the peace in the State.

The Governor also announced that the youth-friendly center in the Oron Local Government Area will be commissioned on May 26, 2026, as part of activities marking the anniversary of his administration, adding that the center will meaningfully engage the youth when completed.

He also announced that a three-day prayer conference to usher in the next year of his administration will take place from June 1 to 3, 2026, at the International Christian Worship Center.

Governor Eno thanked God for the peace enjoyed across the State, even amidst ongoing political activities, and called on fathers of faith and other spiritual leaders to continually pray for that peace to be sustained.

Earlier, in his message on the theme “Keep Not Silent,” drawn from Isaiah 62:6-7, the Senior Pastor of the Believers Assembly, Apostle Daniel Ekong, charged Christians to rise and speak against evil and satanic powers working against the peace, progress, and growth of the State.

He described the scripture as a divine mandate from God for Christians to speak out against evil on earth.

He noted that the scripture is a strategic message from God to the State, especially in this political season, stressing that silence brings disaster and pain to Christians, while consistency in prayer brings peace, liberty, justice, and blessings to a people.
