The Ekiti State Police Command has received 31 newly commissioned Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Cadet Officers deployed to the state following their graduation from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.
The officers, members of the 7th Regular Course, were formally welcomed on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Joseph Eribo, shortly after their presidential commissioning.
Addressing the new officers, CP Eribo charged them to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, including discipline, professionalism, integrity, fairness and respect for citizens’ rights. He stressed the need for strict adherence to the rules of engagement in the discharge of their statutory duties.
The police commissioner further urged the officers to remain dedicated to their responsibilities, shun all forms of corruption and place the protection of lives and property of residents of Ekiti State above all other considerations.
CP Eribo also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for approving the posting of additional manpower to the command, noting that the development would significantly enhance the command’s operational effectiveness.
Responding on behalf of the cadet officers, the newly deployed ASPs thanked the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for the opportunity to serve the nation and pledged their commitment to duty and service in line with the force’s regulations.
The event marks a further boost to policing capacity in Ekiti State as the command continues efforts to strengthen security across the state.
