…Aare T.A.T administration expands access to primary, preventive healthcare for residents
Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has successfully concluded a two-day Mega Health Mission, attracting a large turnout of residents and providing a wide range of free medical services aimed at improving community health.
The outreach, held at the Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat, reflects the administration’s commitment to accessible and preventive healthcare across the LCDA.
Speaking during the programme, Executive Chairman Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (T.A.T) reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to prioritising public health and ensuring life-saving medical services are available to residents without financial barriers.
On the first day, Chairman Taiwo, accompanied by HRM Oba Morufu Adisa Adekunle Ojoola, Ojon of Ejigbo and Ijon Land, visited service points to monitor operations and engage with health workers and beneficiaries, showcasing strong administrative and traditional support for the initiative.
The multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, optometrists, and dental specialists offered free hypertension and diabetes screenings, malaria and HIV tests with counselling, general medical consultations, eye exams, and dental procedures. Residents particularly appreciated specialised services such as optical care and dental treatment, often expensive and inaccessible to many households.
Officials of the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme also enrolled interested residents at no cost, ensuring continued access to affordable healthcare beyond the outreach.
The second day saw an even larger turnout, with additional services including prostate and cervical cancer screenings, extended dental care, eye follow-ups, and other specialist interventions, reflecting growing community demand and the administration’s commitment to continuity of care.
Health officials highlighted that the initiative encourages early diagnosis, prevents avoidable health complications, and promotes healthier living habits among residents, reinforcing the importance of community-based healthcare.
