EFCC returns N108m recovered from ex-employees to Lagos firm

The Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over N108 million recovered during an investigation into an alleged fraud involving two former employees of Greenwich Planet Sun King Nigeria Limited.

The recovered funds were presented to the company’s representatives in bank drafts on Wednesday at the EFCC’s Lagos office.

According to the Commission, the money formed part of the funds recovered in the course of investigations into allegations bordering on abuse of office, forgery, stealing and diversion of company funds by the former employees.

Speaking during the handover, officials of the EFCC reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that proceeds of crime are recovered and returned to rightful owners where appropriate.

A representative of Greenwich Planet Sun King Nigeria Limited expressed appreciation to the Commission for its efforts in recovering the funds and pledged the company’s continued cooperation with law enforcement agencies in the fight against economic and financial crimes.

The EFCC stated that investigations and other legal processes relating to the matter are ongoing.
