The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Ikoyi, has handed over the sum of $150,000 recovered from an alleged case of obtaining by false pretence to the victim.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that the handover was carried out on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at its Lagos zonal office.
The recovered funds were returned to the victim following the commission’s investigation into the alleged fraudulent transaction.
The development underscores the EFCC’s continued efforts to recover proceeds of fraudulent activities and restore funds to victims of financial crimes.
The commission has continued to intensify its investigations and recovery operations against individuals involved in economic and financial crimes across the country.
The EFCC urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspected cases of fraud and other financial crimes to the appropriate authorities.
