The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over alleged abuse of the Naira.
Inuwa was taken into custody on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing her allegedly using Naira notes to wipe mucus from her nose.
According to the Commission, the video prompted immediate action, leading operatives to trace and apprehend the actress for questioning.
EFCC sources confirmed that Inuwa is currently being held at the Commission’s detention facility in Kano as investigations continue.
The anti graft agency stated that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The EFCC reiterated its warning against the mutilation and abuse of the Nigerian currency, stressing that offenders will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
