Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has inspected the ongoing construction works on the Arue-Uromi-Agbor road projects, expressing satisfaction with the progress recorded despite challenges posed by the rainy season.
The governor, who visited the project sites on Monday, said his administration remained committed to ensuring that the road projects were completed and delivered to the people of the state.
Speaking during the inspection, Okpebholo said, “I inspected the ongoing Arue–Uromi–Agbor road projects today and was pleased to see steady progress despite the challenges of the rainy season.”
He assured residents that his administration would continue to provide the necessary support to contractors working on the projects as funds and other resources become available.
“Our administration will continue to fund and support the contractors as resources become available, with the goal of achieving significant progress on these roads before Christmas,” he said.
The governor explained that the projects formed part of his administration’s broader efforts to improve road infrastructure across Edo State and make movement easier for residents and businesses.
According to him, better road networks would contribute significantly to economic activities and improve the quality of life of residents, particularly communities located along the affected routes.
“These projects are part of our commitment to improving road infrastructure, easing movement and making life better for the people of Edo State,” Okpebholo said.
He added, “We will continue to work and deliver.”
The Arue-Uromi-Agbor road corridor is considered important to communities and road users who depend on the route for transportation and economic activities.
The inspection also provided an opportunity for the governor and project officials to assess the level of work and the challenges affecting construction, particularly as the rainy season continues.
Okpebholo’s administration said it would maintain its focus on practical infrastructure development, with the aim of ensuring that ongoing projects across the state receive the required attention and support.
The governor’s visit comes as his administration continues to highlight road rehabilitation and construction as key areas of its development agenda.
The projects are being implemented under the administration’s SHINE Agenda, which focuses on practical governance and improving infrastructure for residents across Edo State.
