Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening administrative performance and accelerating delivery of the state’s development agenda.
The changes were announced during the State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held on Monday at the Government House in Abakaliki.
Governor Nwifuru called on members of the council to assess their contributions to the administration thus far and renew their commitment to achieving its development priorities.
Under the new portfolio assignments, Jude Chikadibia Okpor, who had been Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, has been moved to oversee the Ministry of Rural Development.
Aikeuwa Omebeh, previously Commissioner for Rural Development, will now lead the Ministry of Information and State Orientation.
Paul Awo Nwobasi, who formerly held the position of Commissioner for Education (Primary and Secondary), has been redeployed to the Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution.
Donatus Ilang, the former Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, has been assigned to the Ministry of Education (Primary and Secondary).
Governor Nwifuru urged the newly reassigned commissioners to bring fresh momentum to their new roles and to ensure tangible results that positively impact the lives of Ebonyi residents.
