Gov. Ademola Adeleke has congratulated Christians in Osun State and across Nigeria on the celebration of Easter, urging them to reflect on the message of love, sacrifice, and hope associated with the season.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, the Governor described Easter as a reminder of the triumph of life over death and light over darkness, noting that its essence lies in selflessness and faith in a better future.
He highlighted the spiritual significance of the celebration, stating that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ calls for renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.
Adeleke reassured Christians in the state of his administration’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and the protection of religious freedom.
He said the government remains dedicated to building a society where citizens, regardless of faith, can thrive without fear or discrimination.
The Governor urged Christians to imbibe the virtues of humility, forgiveness, and love, noting that such values are essential for strengthening unity and promoting development.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and improving key sectors that affect the daily lives of residents.
Adeleke cautioned against individuals seeking to exploit religious sentiments for political gain, stressing that such actions undermine unity and progress.
He called on Christians to use the Easter period to pray for Osun State, Nigeria, and leaders at all levels, while encouraging acts of kindness towards the vulnerable.
“As we commemorate this season, I urge all citizens to embrace its message of hope and renewal. Our administration remains committed to delivering good governance and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach all parts of Osun State,” he said.
