Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has stirred reactions after posting a satirical apology letter directed at Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In the letter, shared on her verified Facebook page, Natasha mockingly apologized for the “crime” of maintaining her dignity and refusing to follow the usual Senate politics.
She suggested that, under Akpabio’s leadership, loyalty is valued more than merit.
Part of the letter reads:
“Please forgive this stubborn woman who mistakenly believed her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections.”
She also joked that her actions caused “bruised egos so large they require their own postcodes.”
The letter comes weeks after Natasha was suspended from the Senate for six months over alleged misconduct. Natasha claims the suspension followed her refusal to give in to inappropriate advances from the Senate President — a claim Akpabio has denied.
Her letter has since gone viral, with many Nigerians praising her courage and using the moment to discuss the challenges women face in politics.
The full letter is available on Senator Natasha’s official Facebook page.
