The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has formally dismissed reports alleging a ban on Burna Boy’s music following a physical altercation involving the singer and DJ Tunez.
In a statement released on Thursday, the association characterized such claims as false and misleading.
DJAN National President, Prince Akim Edeh, distanced the organization from the viral reports, particularly condemning the unauthorized use of the association’s logo to validate the rumors.
The association emphasized that it has neither implemented nor intended to place a ban on the Grammy-winning artist’s music.
While addressing the incident, DJAN reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward physical confrontation within the entertainment industry.
The leadership noted that it is closely monitoring the situation as investigations unfold.
“The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has noted with grave concern reports surrounding a recent incident involving a Disc Jockey and Burna Boy. As a body dedicated to the growth and integrity of the entertainment industry, we maintain a firm and unwavering stance against any form of violence,” the statement read.
The association further clarified that DJ Tunez is not a registered member of DJAN. This distinction underscores the organization’s position that the dispute is an isolated incident rather than a matter dictated by the association’s governing body.
The statement urged media platforms and the general public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could undermine the collaborative environment between performing artists and disc jockeys.
DJAN concluded by reaffirming its commitment to fostering a healthy music space and called for calm while relevant authorities investigate the matter.
