Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri today, handed over a new state-of-the-art fire fighting truck to the management of Bayelsa International Airport Limited to enhance safety and emergency response at the airport.
The Governor handed over the keys and documents to the Managing Director of the Airport, Air Vice Marshal Nelson Ebieteli Calmday (Rtd) at Government House, Yenagoa.
He said,”The fire fighting truck was procured from Germany. I make bold to say that we now have one of the best state-of-the-art fire fighting trucks. On behalf of the government, I now hand over the keys and documents to the Managing Director”, Governor Diri said.
On his part, Air Vice Marshal Calmday (Rtd) thanked the Governor for the timely intervention and assured that the truck would be properly deployed to ensure the safety of passengers, aircraft and airport facilities.
