The former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has ruled out defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to any other political party, despite the party’s deepening crisis which has seen many members decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking to newsmen after visiting President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Fayose described the PDP as a “carcass,” in reference to its ongoing leadership struggles and the internal crisis that has plagued the party since the lead-up to the 2023 general election, particularly over zoning arrangements.
Fayose emphasised that although he has concerns about the PDP’s future, he has no intention of switching allegiance, unlike some of his colleagues who have joined the APC, citing Tinubu’s performance as their reason.
He stated, “Ayodele Fayose is not moving from the PDP to any political party,” he concluded.
