A combined team of Nigeria military and the police, have reportedly stormed the residence of a leader of Indeginious People of Biafran (IPOB), Okeleke Chukwudi Benjamin in Ogwashi-Ukwu, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.
The security agents were said to have invaded the IPOB leader’s home between 12PM and 2PM on March 19th, 2019, shooting sporadically in a bid to arrest him over his group fight in self determination against the Fulani extremists Jihadist.
Nigerian NewsDirect gathered that, while Okeleke Chukwudi Benjamin escaped the rampaging security forces with vary degree of injuries, his aged parents were however unlucky as they were killed following injures they sustained from the security gunshots.
Okeleke Chukwudi Benjamin reportedly escaped death by the whisker and have since reportedly fled to a Neighbouring West Africa Country, Mali, where he then secured a tourist visa to a European country.
The whereabouts of three other occupants of the building during the security forces brutal invasion remain unknown. The occupants at the time include, Jude Aze, 31, Efe Bola 28, and Grace Kele 30.
The security forces were said to have also invaded a nearby village, Ibusa, during which one Nwanochie Onwordi was able to slip through the security personnel and now reported to have fled to a foreign country.
IPOB has consistently accused the Nigerian government of aiding the Fulani extremists Jihadist quest to forcefully convert them to Islam.
Nigerians in the southern part of the country have repeatedly maintained that Islam is alien to them and resisted same.
The development was reported to have prompted the Apex leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to begun the agitation of Biafra cessation from Nigeria because of the difference in beliefs.
