The Delta State Government has launched a $100 million (approximately N133 billion) Viability Gap Fund designed to de-risk strategic investments and accelerate economic growth across the state.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori made the announcement on Monday during the ongoing Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026.
The landmark fund aims to provide private investors with greater financial security, helping de-risk critical infrastructure and development initiatives that might otherwise face commercial viability gaps.
Speaking on the initiative, state officials emphasized that the fund demonstrates a firm commitment to backing opportunity with action by creating a secure, investor-friendly environment that fosters public-private partnerships.
By absorbing initial investment risks, the Delta State Government expects the $100 million fund to unlock private capital, drive industrial expansion, and deliver impactful projects aimed at creating jobs and sustainable prosperity for residents across the state.
