Dangote Sugar’s N50bn series 13 & 14 Commercial Paper offer closes Wednesday

3 Sept 2025

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc’s Series 13 and 14 Commercial Paper (CP) issuance, worth up to N50 billion, is set to close on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The offer is being raised under the company’s N300 billion Commercial Paper Issuance Programme.

A subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited, Dangote Sugar is a major player in refining, distributing, and marketing granulated sugar to wholesalers as well as key clients in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and skincare sectors.

This issuance follows a N100 billion raise in June through Series 10 to 12 CPs. Earlier in February, the company sought N50 billion under its Series 8 and 9 Commercial Paper offerings, part of its earlier N150 billion programme.

The company underwent a significant leadership change in June when Arnold Ekpe was named chairman, effective June 16, 2025, succeeding Aliko Dangote following his retirement from the position. Dangote, a founding director, had steered the board with vision, integrity, and industry leadership since 2005.

Dangote Sugar Refinery remains Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest sugar processor, with a total installed refining capacity of 1.49 million metric tonnes (MMT) per annum. The company is working towards adding another 1.5 MMT of refined sugar output from locally cultivated sugarcane, advancing its ambitious backward integration strategy to position itself as a leading global integrated sugar producer.
