The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has confirmed a cybersecurity breach involving unauthorized access to parts of its digital infrastructure, triggering an immediate containment and investigation process.

In a public notice, the Commission stated that while the incident affected limited aspects of its systems, response protocols were swiftly activated to minimize risks.

The agency is currently working closely with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and other relevant bodies to assess the scope and impact of the breach.

According to the Commission, containment measures have already been implemented, alongside additional safeguards designed to protect the integrity of the corporate registry and its various digital platforms.

The CAC also issued an advisory to stakeholders, urging them to monitor their records on the portal, update their login credentials, and remain cautious of suspicious emails or unsolicited communications that may arise following the incident.

While specific details of the breach remain under review, the Commission reassured the public of its commitment to data security and transparency, promising to provide regular updates as investigations progress.

This development highlights the growing concerns surrounding cybersecurity threats to government institutions, as agencies increasingly rely on digital platforms for service delivery and large-scale data management.
