The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a significant adjustment to vehicle importation costs alongside new environmental measures starting today, July 1, 2026.
The agency is implementing the Green Tax Surcharge as part of the 2026 Fiscal Policy Measures to promote environmental sustainability.
The new levy on new vehicles has been reduced from 20% to 10%, while the levy on used vehicles has dropped from 15% to 5%.
