The Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS), Nigeria’s capital market infrastructure provider, has launched a new Custodian Portal, a digital solution designed to enhance operational efficiency, data accessibility, and service delivery for custodians.

Announcing the development in a statement on Monday, Haruna Jalo-Waziri, Chief Executive Officer of CSCS, said the portal offers a secure, user-centric experience for managing portfolio and trade operations across Nigeria’s capital market.

The Custodian Portal provides advanced features such as real-time portfolio tracking, document and share transfer management, client symbol search, and comprehensive data access. It also supports flexible payment integration through platforms like GTPay and Paystack, and allows users to download reports in PDF and Excel formats.

“This portal represents a major step forward in our commitment to digital transformation,” said Jalo-Waziri. “It centralises key processes and empowers custodians with the tools to manage records securely, efficiently, and in real time. We are confident it will improve transparency and streamline workflows across the market.”

Designed with a subscription-based model, the portal enhances user experience through features like inbox messaging, request tracking, stock movement monitoring across specific date ranges, and robust user management including role-based access and activity status tracking.

Tobe Nnadozie, Divisional Head of Business Technology and Digital Innovation at CSCS, added that the portal is a part of a broader omnichannel automation strategy, integrating API services and market-wide workflow systems to ensure secure communication and approvals among all major capital market stakeholders.

He noted that the platform is fortified with industry-leading cybersecurity infrastructure and is backed by CSCS’s Security Operations Center (SOC).

The introduction of the Custodian Portal underscores CSCS’s strategic commitment to digital innovation, aiming to modernise back-office functions, promote standardisation, and support a more agile, data-driven capital market ecosystem.

With all custodians in Nigeria’s capital market now fully onboarded, the portal marks a significant milestone in CSCS’s mission to drive digital adoption, enhance collaboration, and optimise infrastructure efficiency across the capital market.
