President Bola Tinubu has declared that criminal hideouts are disappearing in Abuja, as social activities gradually return to the capital.
Tinubu spoke during the inauguration of the Collector Road CN2 in Katampe District, Abuja.
The President was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the ceremony on Friday.
He attributed the transformation to good governance that provided security, mobility, and dignity for residents.
Tinubu praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for fulfilling the mandate to make Abuja a true capital city.
“My fellow residents of Abuja, we did not stop at the road. We installed solar streetlights.
“Today, Katampe is safer at night. Abuja’s real life is coming back. Criminal hideouts are disappearing,” he said.
The President said the development showed what effective governance could deliver to citizens.
He noted that the road connects Katampe and Mabushi districts with major road networks.
According to him, the project reflects his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda for national development.
“Indeed, this road is a testament to the Renewed Hope Agenda. Nigeria is working again,” Tinubu stated.
He said the infrastructure would reduce travel difficulties caused by congestion, dust, and poor road conditions.
“A road like CN2 is more than concrete. It is hope,” the President added.
Tinubu said the project demonstrated that government could deliver meaningful results for Nigerians.
He also praised Wike’s commitment, recalling his achievements before appointing him to transform Abuja.
“Wike, you have not disappointed Nigerians. From abandoned roads to new boulevards,” he said.
The President commended the minister’s dedication to roads, water projects, and judicial infrastructure across the FCT.
“You do not give excuses. You give results. The people of the FCT call you Mr Project,” Tinubu said.
He described the minister’s performance as proof of commitment to rebuilding the nation’s capital.
