A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja
on Monday released a convict, Ibrahim Salisu due to ill-health.
Salisu pleaded guilty to joint act and theft.
Chief Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang held that the court was lenient due to the health condition of the convict.
“Justice is not about punishing offenders alone. You are advised to be cautious and not ever commit such act.
“If you commit this crime again, you will be sent to prison,” she held.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Catherine Okafor told the court that, Insp Isa Yusuf and Mukaila Dayyabu of the Utako Police Division, Abuja arrested Salisu on July 25.
Okafor said Salisu and one Bagga, at large, were arrested in the possession of two outdoor ACs, a pumping machine, suspected to be stolen from Morrison Hotel Utako.
