Court arraigns 15 miscreants in Lagos

According to reports 15 suspected miscreants arrested at Obalende have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos, with 14 of them pleading guilty to the charges preferred against them.

Following their plea, the court sentenced 10 of the defendants to 1 month imprisonment, while 4 others were ordered to undertake 4 hours of community service with 1 of the defendants who pleaded not guilty, the case was subsequently adjourned till May 5, 2026, for trial.

Those sentenced to community service include Abdulazeez Baoku, Lateef Bello, Ibrahim Bakare, and Abdul Razak while the 10 convicted and sentenced to one month imprisonment are Afeez Raimi, Yusuf Aroba, Ikechukwu Emeka, Emmanuel Alfred, Sikiru Quadri, Rehab Muhammed, Abass Isiaka, Muhammed Mamuda, Yezuru Abdullahi, and Sahaada Isiak.

However, Rilwan Hassan, who pleaded not guilty, is expected to face trial on the adjourned date.

The arraignment is part of ongoing enforcement efforts under the Lagos State Government’s “ZeroToleranceLagos” initiative aimed at curbing street crimes and maintaining public order across the state.
