The CityBoy Movement has dismissed as false and malicious a viral social media post alleging that its Patron, Seyi Tinubu, made blasphemous remarks concerning God in relation to the 2027 general elections.
The controversial post, reportedly credited to “Albaabu Abudulahi,” has been widely circulated online, sparking reactions and concerns over various religious sensitivity.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Deputy Director-General, Communication and Public Affairs, O’tega Ogra, the group noted that Seyi Tinubu never made such statements “in any form, at any time, or through any medium” describing the attribution as a deliberate fabrication aimed at distorting his character and provoking unnecessary religious tension within the country.
The organization further stressed that Seyi Tinubu is a person of strong faith who holds deep respect for Almighty God, noting that he believes all power and authority are ultimately subject to divine will.
The Movement also reaffirmed his political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, but maintained that such political engagement does not contradict his religious convictions warning against the spread of misinformation.
The group urged Nigerians to disregard the viral content, describing it as a “calculated attempt to mislead the public and inflame sensitivities.” calling on media platforms and social media users to verify information before sharing, cautioning that unverified claims could threaten national unity and peaceful coexistence.
The CityBoy Movement reiterated its commitment to responsible political engagement, religious tolerance, and national stability.
