City Boy movement provides relief materials for Oyo abducted pupils’ community

Olufemi Onireti, Director of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, has provided medical supplies and other relief items to residents of Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area.

He made the donation on Tuesday during a sympathy visit to the community following the abduction of teachers and pupils from schools in the area.

Onireti said the visit was to support the affected community and encourage them as efforts continue to secure the release of the abducted victims.

He expressed hope that the teachers and pupils would soon be freed, adding that security agencies and government authorities were working to ensure their safe return.

He urged residents to remain calm and hopeful despite the painful incident.

“We are confident that the abducted teachers and pupils will return safely. Authorities are making serious efforts, and we are here to show solidarity with the community,” he said.

He also said the medical items donated would help strengthen basic healthcare services in the community.

During the visit, he also gave ₦1 million to the family of the late teacher, Michael Oyedokun, who died during the attack. He further announced scholarships for his two sons.

The traditional ruler of Esinele, High Chief Tajudeen Abioye, thanked both the Federal and Oyo State Governments for their response and support since the incident happened.

He said government representatives had assured the community that efforts were ongoing to rescue the abducted teachers and pupils.

However, he appealed for faster action to ensure their safe return.

The abduction, which occurred on May 15, 2026, at schools in Oriire Local Government Area, has continued to raise concern across Oyo State, with calls for improved security in rural communities.
