Christmas: Gov.Radda preaches unity, religious tolerance

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended warm felicitations to Christians in the state and across Nigeria as they celebrate Christmas and prepare to usher in the New Year.

In his goodwill message, the Governor urged the Christian faithful to deeply reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly his enduring messages of love, sacrifice, peace, and compassion toward humanity.

Governor Radda described the Christmas season as a significant period for citizens to renew their commitment to values that foster peaceful coexistence and national unity.

He called on all Christians to embrace the spirit of love and tolerance that Christ exemplified during his earthly ministry, emphasizing that such virtues are essential for social cohesion.

The Governor stressed that unity among Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, remains critical to building a safer and more prosperous Katsina State.

He advocated for sustained collaboration between Christians, Muslims, and practitioners of other faiths, noting that religious tolerance and mutual respect are foundational ingredients for development and progress.

He noted that when citizens stand together in unity, the state becomes stronger and more capable of overcoming its challenges.

Governor Radda further enjoined Christians to utilize the season to pray for peace, security, and prosperity, highlighting that the nation requires both divine intervention and human cooperation to achieve lasting progress.

He assured the Christian community in Katsina of his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting their rights, ensuring their safety, and creating an enabling environment where all citizens can practice their faith without fear or hindrance.

Gov.Namadi signs N901bn budget into Law in Jigawa

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has signed the N901 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, formally authorising the state’s spending plan for the new fiscal year.

The signing followed the passage of the budget by the Jigawa State House of Assembly, completing the legislative process required for its implementation.

The approved budget, which covers expenditure for both the state government and the 27 local government areas, totals N901 billion, reflecting the administration’s focus on inclusive development and grassroots governance.

Describing the appropriation as a “budget for the people of Jigawa State,” Governor Namadi commended members of the House of Assembly for their dedication and timely consideration of the estimates, noting that their cooperation made the budget’s passage possible.

The governor also expressed appreciation to civil servants across ministries, departments and agencies for providing critical data and inputs that shaped the budget, particularly information gathered from citizens based on their priority needs.

Namadi praised officials involved in collating public demands, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to supporting their work and improving staff welfare.

He further commended senior aides in the education and health sectors for their dedication to duty, stressing that these sectors remain central to the government’s development agenda.

The governor assured residents that the 2026 budget would be fully implemented, adding that his administration remained committed to delivering tangible benefits across all sectors of the state economy.
