Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has publicly congratulated fellow chef Hilda Baci for setting a new Guinness World Record by cooking the largest pot of jollof rice.
Nigerian NewsDirect reports that the record-breaking event took place on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, where Baci cooked 8,780kg of jollof rice.
Guinness World Records officially confirmed her achievement on September 15, prompting an emotional reaction from the chef.
In an Instagram video, Chef Dammy applauded Baci’s success and thanked Gino for partnering in the event.
She also addressed questions from fans about whether she intended to attempt another cookathon.
“I’m making this video because people have been asking me, ‘do you want to cook again?’ No, why would I do that? I will just like to say thank you to everyone that has been supporting me and to everybody that has been fighting on my behalf online,” Dammy said.
