The Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, has been honoured with the 2026 Corporate Governance and Regulatory Reforms Award by Blueprint Newspaper.

Magaji received the award in recognition of his leadership and contributions to corporate governance, regulatory reforms and efforts to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

The award was presented to the CAC boss on Tuesday during the 8th edition of the Blueprint Newspaper Public Lecture, Impact Series and Awards.

The event, which brought together prominent Nigerians from different sectors, focused on the theme, “Security Challenges and Integrity of Nigeria’s 2027 Elections.”

Politicians, heads of government agencies and parastatals, captains of industry and other stakeholders attended the gathering, which provided an opportunity for discussions on some of the challenges confronting the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Magaji’s recognition placed emphasis on reforms within the corporate regulatory space and the need for effective institutions to support businesses and strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s economy.

The award organisers noted that his leadership at the CAC had contributed to efforts aimed at strengthening regulatory processes and making it easier for businesses to operate within the country.

The recognition also highlights the growing importance of corporate governance in ensuring transparency, accountability and responsible management of organisations.

Speaking on the significance of the honour, the award presentation underscored the need for public officials and institutions to continue pursuing reforms that can deliver measurable benefits to Nigerians.

The Blueprint Public Lecture and Awards is an annual programme that combines intellectual discussions with recognition of individuals and organisations considered to have made significant contributions to national development.

Over the years, the platform has provided a forum for stakeholders to examine issues affecting Nigeria’s governance, security and socio-economic progress.

The 2026 edition placed particular attention on security and the credibility of the 2027 elections, with speakers and participants examining the challenges that could affect the electoral process.

The event also recognised individuals, public servants, corporate leaders and institutions whose activities have contributed to transparency, good governance and national development.

Magaji’s award therefore adds to the recognition of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s corporate regulatory environment, particularly at a time when efficient institutions and business-friendly reforms remain important to economic growth.

The honour also reinforces the role of the CAC in supporting businesses, promoting compliance and improving the regulatory framework governing companies and other registered entities in Nigeria.
