C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA have secured promotion to the 2027 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Championship.
Both teams achieved this feat after reaching the final of the 2026 NWFL Nationwide Championship ongoing in Aba, Abia.
They earned promotion to the second tier of the women’s league after recording identical 4-2 victories in their respective semi-final matches at the Enyimba Stadium.
C2E Sports Academy defeated Kwara United Queens 4-2 in the first semi-final, completing a remarkable comeback after conceding twice.
Kwara United Queens took an early lead through Oluwabunkunmi Azeez in the third minute, while Amarachi Nnorom doubled the advantage in the 47th minute.
C2E reduced the deficit through an own goal by Omobolanle Abdulganiu in first-half added time before Chidinma Gideon restored parity in the 52nd minute.
Another own goal, this time by Taiwo Omoniyi in the 74th minute, put C2E ahead before Agnes Ohuche completed the comeback in the 87th minute.
In the second semi-final, Obosa Queens FA also overturned an early deficit to defeat Onimarg FC 4-2.
Onimarg took the lead through Victoria Yakubu in the 10th minute before Chinemerem Nnachi equalised for Obosa Queens three minutes later.
Adeomo Lovelyn restored Onimarg’s lead in the 33rd minute, but Idowu Saidat levelled for Obosa Queens in the second minute of first-half added time.
Saidat completed her brace in the 55th minute to put Obosa Queens ahead, while Aliu Rofia added the fourth goal in the second minute of stoppage time.
The results set up a final between C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA at the Enyimba Stadium on Sunday.
While both teams have already secured promotion to the 2027 NWFL Championship, they will now battle for the 2026 NWFL Nationwide Championship title.
A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament.
