A businessman, Adamu Salisu, has prayed an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State to dissolve his marriage to Zainab Idris on grounds of alleged neglect of children.
Salisu, who lives in Karu, Nasarawa State, told the court that he, married his wife under the Sharia Islamic law.
The father of three said:“I am a sad man because my wife does not like peace. She stopped my children from going to school while she goes about her business.
“I provide for my family. I buy foodstuffs but she does not cook for our children,” he said.
He prayed the court to grant him custody of the children.
Responding, Idris denied her husband’s allegations.
“I agree with the dissolution of the marriage but I want custody of the children,” she said.
The Judge, Mohammed Shomo, adjourned the matter until Oct. 5 for ruling
