BUA Cement Plc has posted an 80% jump in Profit After Tax to ₦324.88 billion for the half-year period ended June 30, 2026, driven by entry into new market segments, operational efficiency, and tight cost discipline.

According to the company’s unaudited H1 2026 financial statement submitted to the Nigerian Exchange, total revenue climbed 25.6% to ₦728.93 billion, up from ₦580.30 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

Gross profit rose nearly 49% to ₦427.03 billion from ₦286.36 billion in H1 2025, supported by strict cost-containment measures that kept cost of sales growth down to 2.7%, at ₦301.89 billion.

Profit Before Tax also advanced 79% year-on-year to reach ₦384.44 billion, while Earnings Per Share expanded to ₦9.59 compared with ₦5.34 in the prior period.

Commenting, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yusuf Binji, expressed satisfaction with the performance, noting that cost-containment initiatives effectively reduced direct costs per tonne and expanded operating margins despite prevailing macroeconomic pressures.
