The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The Returning Officer, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Prof. Olalekan Ogunwole announced the result at the INEC Osun State Headquarters in Osogbo at about 7:50 a.m. on Sunday.
According to him, “Ademola Adeleke Jackson Nurudeen of Accord party having satisfied the requirement of the law his here by declare the winner and return elected”
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
The result gives Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes over Oyebamiji based on the figures announced from the 30 local government areas.
The Accord candidate also won 19 of the 30 local government areas, while the APC secured 11 LGAs.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third in the election.
