The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended the two-week warning strike it announced last week across all public universities in Nigeria.
The union made the announcement on Wednesday during a press conference at its Abuja headquarters.
President of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, stated that the decision followed interventions from the Senate and other well-meaning Nigerians.
He explained that the National Executive Council of ASUU resolved to grant the federal government a one-month window to resolve all outstanding issues affecting university staff and operations.
