The attack, which targeted several households, left a trail of blood and unresolved grief, most notably for the family of Mr. Kasali Adewale Lawal.

During the targeted raid on the Lawal residence, the terrorists fatally shot Mr. Kasali Adewale Lawal and his first son, Kabiru Lawal.
The loss of the family’s patriarch and his eldest child has left the surviving members in a state of profound shock and economic vulnerability.
However, the horror did not end with the killings. In the chaos of the withdrawal, the insurgents abducted the daughter of the family, Anjolaoluwa Elizabeth Lawal.
Despite the passage of time and various security efforts in the region, Anjolaoluwa remains missing. Her whereabouts and the conditions of her captivity have stayed a mystery, with no ransom demands or communication from her captors reported to date.
Local community leaders have cited this tragedy as a grim reminder of the persistent security threats faced by civilians in rural Borno, where the remnants of extremist groups continue to wage a campaign of terror against innocent families.
