Armed bandits have killed two residents, abducted 25 others, and stolen dozens of livestock in coordinated overnight attacks on two villages in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The attackers, armed with AK-47 rifles, stormed Dogon Daji village in the Nahuche District at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday. During the assault, they abducted 25 villagers—including men, women, and children, shot dead a local blacksmith identified as Muhammadu Kasu, and fled with a motorcycle and several heads of cattle.

In a separate but connected raid on Danguro village, the gunmen killed another resident, Aminu Abubakar, and made away with five motorcycles before escaping into nearby forested areas.

Troops under Operation FANSAR YANMA, alongside other security personnel, responded to distress calls and confirmed the attacks.

Security sources said that rescue efforts are underway to recover the abducted individuals and rustled livestock, as well as to pursue and apprehend the perpetrators.
