Days after launching an attack in Zamfara State, bandits struck Kebbi State on Sunday, abducting a Kebbi State High Court judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza.

He was abducted from his residence along Zogirma Road in the Bunza Local Government Area shortly after returning from a trip to Sokoto.

The incident follows a similar attack in Zamfara State, where bandits invaded the residence of a local government chairman before whisking him and his family away.

While military forces swiftly rescued the family members, the chairman and his wife remain in captivity.

According to local sources, the assailants fired sporadically into the air during the operation before fleeing with the judge, leaving other occupants unharmed.

The spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Bashir Usman, has officially confirmed the abduction.
