Aso Savings and Loans posts N400m loss in Q3 2025

Aso Savings and Loans Plc reported a loss after tax of N400.01 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2025, reversing a profit of N230.5 million recorded in the same period last year.

The lender’s unaudited financials show that total operating income fell 39 percent to N1.55 billion from N2.55 billion in Q3 2024, following a sharp decline in other income to N26.9 million from N2.55 billion.

Interest income dipped 11 percent to N746.07 million, while interest expenses dropped 59 percent to N403.44 million. Operating expenses moderated to N1.90 billion from ₦2.19 billion, with provisions for risk assets amounting to N47.32 million.

Total assets rose to N26.63 billion from N21.76 billion a year earlier, boosted by higher loans and advances, which increased to ₦9.69 billion from N5.57 billion. However, total liabilities climbed to N78.21 billion from N77.32 billion, leaving shareholders’ funds negative at N51.58 billion.

The bank’s unappropriated loss widened to N98.93 billion from N67.97 billion as of September 2024.
